Phyllis Ann Barbee Ritchie

Barbara Ann Barbee Ritchie

Phyllis Ann Barbee Ritchie, aged 82, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2024, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family in Winchester, KY. Born on November 23, 1942, in Paris, KY, Phyllis grew into a beacon of kindness, love, and unwavering faith that touched all who knew her.

As a lifelong companion, Phyllis cherished her 61 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Dennie Delbert Ritchie. Together they built a legacy of compassion and family that lives on in their two children, Denise (Bob) Boden and Jamie Moore; seven grandchildren, Courtney (Carter) Offutt, Whitney (Justin) Tuttle, Madison (Kyler Campbell) Vanlandingham, Dustin Moore, Andrew Moore, Jenna (Josh) Bryan, and Cole Boden; six great-grandchildren, William Tuttle, Wrenlee Tuttle, Charleston Offutt, Annabelle Offutt, Becca Colley, and Journie Bryan; a multitude a nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Before her retirement, Phyllis was a respected purchasing agent at the Bluegrass Army Depot. She also dedicated several years of her life working at CMWA in her hometown of Paris, KY. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a proud 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, displaying an unwavering commitment to the values and camaraderie the order stood for.

Phyllis’s life was a testament to the things she loved most dearly – her family, her unwavering devotion to God, and her Bedford Acres Christian Church family, where her faith found joyous expression. She found immense pleasure in traveling, attending bluegrass festivals, and taking long, contemplative walks – simple pleasures that reflected the tranquility of her soul.

Her essence can best be summarized in three words: loving, kind, and faith-filled. Phyllis’s presence was a sanctuary of warmth, her spirit an embrace of generosity, guiding all who had the privilege of knowing her on a path of kindness.

Phyllis steps into eternity leaving behind a path of footprints rich with cherished memories and lives touched. She reunites with those who preceded her in death: her parents, Herman and Anna Louise McFarland Barbee; brothers Kenneth and Marvin Barbee; and sister Peggy Jean Wagoner. Her luminous legacy endures, shining in the hearts of all she embraced.
