Donald Edward Mogge
Donald Edward Mogge, age 87, husband of Jane Frances Schultz Mogge died peacefully at home on March 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Cincinnati, OH on March 23, 1938, to the late George F. and Mary Agnes McHugh Mogge.
After High School, Don followed in the footsteps of his dad and became a police officer for the city of Bellevue and Ft. Thomas, KY. While on the police force he learned the farrier trade. He enjoyed this for many years. He later followed his dream and love of horses and moved to Paris, KY in 1970 where he became the farm manager of Strodes Creek and Xalapa Farm both owned by the late Lillie F. Webb for 19 years. He raised, bred, showed and raced Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds for most of his life while passing on that love to his children. He was an avid fan of Bourbon County Football, Basketball and many sports where he loved supporting his children and grandchildren. Many wonderful years were spent with his family camping, boating, trail riding, horse showing and making many memories.
He was a devoted Catholic and member of the Church of the Annunciation for 55 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers George (Bubs), John (Jack), Jim and sisters Mary and Elaine.
He and the love of his life, Jane, have shared a life of love and family for 62 years. Family was not only important, but was everything to him. They were blessed with 7 children: Laura (Shane) Chipman, Angela (Joe) Bell, Wayne (Molly) Mogge, Donna (Scott) Beheler, Guy (Julie) Mogge, Shannon (Darryl) Wells, and Ashley (Ryan) Collins;18 grandchildren: Matt (Lisa) Bell, Tyler Dominguez, Tori Dominguez, Kelli (Brandon) Evans, Jessica (Chris) Haubner, Bailey Bell, Lucas Mogge, Trevor Dominguez, Shelby Mogge, Emily Bell, Maddie Beheler, Casey Beheler, Caden Mogge, Guy David Mogge, Jake Wells, Taylor Wells, Landon Collins and Kynlee Collins; 5 great grandchildren: Lane Evans, Hadley Haubner, Leighton Evans, Sophia Bell and McCoy Haubner, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday March 8, 2025, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main St., Paris, KY by Father Thomas Farrell and Father Jeff Estacio with a visitation from 10:00 AM until hour of Mass at the church. Burial to follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be at 5-8 PM Friday March 7, 2025, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY with a Rosary service will conduct at 7:30 PM by Father Jeff Estacio.
Pallbearers are his grandchildren.
