John Robert Franklin

John Robert Franklin, a revered family patriarch, passed away on March 11, 2025, at the venerable age of 80, in Frankfort, KY, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 14, 1944, in Cynthiana, KY, John’s life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and the imprints of his hard work that shaped his hometown throughout the years.
John’s journey through life was filled with the joys of fatherhood, as he raised three admirable sons, Robert, Richard and Curtis Franklin. His legacy further flourished through his four doting grandchildren, Patrice Thompson, Genice, Ronnisha, and Jazmine Franklin, and through the playful laughter of his nine lively great-grandchildren; Keiwan, Roniyah, Christipher, Corey, Brianna, Alicia, Daycen, Jaylen, and Jaxsen.
Before retiring, John was a proud employee of Ladish Inc, where his dedication was evident to all. His commitment to community spirit continued through fifteen years at Baptist Health in the Environmental Services Department and part-time work at Landmark horse farm. He charmed his colleagues and even animals with his gentle nature and infectious laughter.
The void left by John’s departure is felt keenly, as he was preceded in death by his devoted wife Stella Louise Wilson Franklin; his treasured son Richard; his nurturing parents, John T. Franklin and Sylvia Collins Griffin; one beloved granddaughter, Ebony Franklin; two cherished great-grandchildren, Jaron and Jailee Worley; four beloved brothers Noah, Ray, Jessie, and Jr. Griffin; and two loving sisters, Betty and Connie Franklin.
John’s love for life was further displayed in his hobbies. He took immense pleasure in tending to his yard, working on cars, and embracing the simple joy of being outdoors. His hands, ever busy, were a testament to a life of consistent caring and influence.
John Robert Franklin’s rich legacy will continue to bloom in the lives he touched. His enduring spirit remains a beacon of integrity and love for his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 PM Tuesday March 18, 2025, by Bishop Tiangello Hill at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation was from 10:00 AM Tuesday March 18,2025 until the hour of at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Franklin, Frank Patterson, Frank Burns, Keiwan Franklin, Phillip Thompson and Robert Franklin. Honorary pallbearer wasTristan Worley.
