Nathaniel Glen Woodford

Nathaniel Glen Woodford, known for his humorous spirit, passed away on April 20, 2025, in Lexington, KY. Born to William Chester and Fannie Belle Downey Woodford on January 8, 1962, in Paris, KY, Nathaniel crafted a life filled with laughter, kinship, and intelligence that positively impacted everyone around him.
After graduating from Paris High School and furthering his education at Kentucky State University on a Science Scholarship, Nathaniel explored diverse career avenues, enriching each professional community with his dedication and warm presence. His sense of purpose and commitment was also evident in his involvement with the Prodigal’s House, where his charitable spirit found resonance.
Nathaniel treasured the simple pleasures of life, finding joy in the tranquility of fishing and the cherished moments spent with family. He was a beacon of love and guidance for his dear son, Derek Woodford, and he took immense pride in his role as a doting grandfather to Keeley A’nyiah and Aspen Serenity Woodford. His legacy of friendship and kindness lives on through his brothers, Kevin Howard and Wallace Wayne Howard (and his wife Darlene), his sisters Cheryl Porter, Barbara Robinson, Anita Banks, and Regina Wiggins, as well as his uncle David Downey, aunt Virginia Beard, and the many lives he touched within his extensive circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, families, friends, and his special friend, Anna Fullwood.
Predeceased by his grandparents, William and Ida Downey, and his sister Connie Williams, Nathaniel’s memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared by those who knew him best—stories filled with joy, wit, and the wisdom of a life well-lived.
