Noah Espy “N. E.” Blackwell, III
Noah Espy “N. E.” Blackwell, III, 92, of Paris, Kentucky passed away on July 2nd, 2025, after a short illness.
Noah was born August 17th, 1932, in Plantersville, Mississippi, the son of Noah E. Blackwell, Jr. and Merle Durrett Blackwell.
Noah is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joan (Joann) Vance Blackwell of Paris, Kentucky, daughters, Melanie A. Blackwell and Nora B. Judy (Morgan) both of Lexington Kentucky, and a son, R. Vance Blackwell (Joyce Shew) of Paris. Also surviving are two grandsons, Dustin H. Pegg of Bellevue, Kentucky, Major Joshua S. Judy USAF (Amy) of Lancaster, California, and one Granddaughter, Elizabeth J. Davey (Nico) of Summerville, South Carolina. Additionally, he was blessed with two Great Granddaughters, Olivia and Freya Judy.
Noah graduated from Tupelo High School, Tupelo MS and received his bachelor’s with advanced graduate studies in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mississippi.
After completing his service with the USAF (Captain), he began his career with Exxon Corporation and its affiliates taking his family around the globe with postings in Baton Rouge, LA, New York, NY, Tokyo, Japan, the Republic of Singapore and Houston, TX.
Retiring in 1986, Noah and Joan moved to Paris, KY enjoying their time in central Kentucky with friends both old and new. Noah and Joan continued to travel the US and the World throughout their retirement.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
