James Clay Williams
James Clay Williams, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2025. He was the husband of Wanda Davis Williams for 63 and a half years, and the father of Sherry Faye Williams, both of whom survive.
Jimmy, as he liked to be called, served his country for 3 years in the United States Army and retired from IBM where he made many friends.
His hobby was photography and he loved staying in touch with his NMHS classmates and meeting up with them for breakfast once a week.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Christopher and Christine Collins Williams. Years after the death of his father, his mother married Raymond Royse and Jimmy acquired 7 bonus brothers, of which, Ralph, Lloyd and Paul Royse survive. He is also survived by two brothers in law, John (Joan) Davis and Harold (Rhonda) Davis, and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks go out to the wonderful “angels” from Hospice of the Blue Grass who took great care of Jimmy and made it possible for us to keep him at home with us. They also helped keep our spirits up, and we could not have gotten through this difficult time without them.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 1 p.m., at Calvary Christian Church, 610 Clintonville Road, Paris.
