Wanda Hawkins Ritchie Tincher
Wanda Hawkins Ritchie Tincher, 89, wife of 50 years to the late Billy Allen Tincher, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home in Paris.
Born April 4, 1936 in Nicholas County to the late Burton and Ruby Bussell Hawkins, she was a graduate of Midway College, worked for many years as a registered nurse at the V.A. in Lexington and was a member of Ruddles Mill Christian Church. Wanda loved her flowers, playing the lottery, listening to music– especially Daniel O’Donnell, her horse and dogs, and visiting with her neighbors.
Surviving are four children: John Paul (Dianna) Ritchie of Nicholas County, Lisa (Ron) McClain of Sharpsburg , Linda (Tony) Fryman of Carlisle and Teresa (Kelly) Beach of Paris; a sister, Michelle Alley of Georgetown; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Debbie Ritchie and Beverly Waters; two sons, Jeffrey and James C. Tincher; and a brother, Leroy Hawkins; two grandsons, Scotty and Shawn Fugate; two great-grandsons, Austin and Joseph Tincher; and a great-great grandson, Caleb C. Mitchell.
Services were 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 31st at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. John McGuire with burial following in Carlisle Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Alexander Ball, Kalep Brierly, Tony Fryman, Jr., Stevie Gray, Patrick Ritchie, James Thomas and Mikey Waters.
Honorary bearers were Pam Henney, Billie Mattox, Jeff and Jacque Morrison and David Shewmaker.
Visitation was from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of service.
