Shirley Bussell Mynear
Shirley Bussell Mynear, 83, wife of the late Jesse Clay Mynear, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long and blessed life on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
A lifelong resident of Nicholas County born January 18, 1936 to the late John William & Betty McIntyre Bussell, Shirley graduated from Nicholas County High School in 1954, worked at the Nicholas County Senior Citizens Center for 22 years and was a member of the Carlisle Christian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and cooking many wonderful meals for them.
She is survived by four children: Sharon (Doug) Vaughn, of Paris, Rita (Phillip) Mattox, Steve (Michele) Mynear and Johnny Mynear (Patty Irvin), all of Carlisle; a brother, Stanley (Nancy)Bussell, of Carlisle; a sister, Gaynell Bussell, of Mt. Sterling; 8 grandchildren: Brandon Mattox, Jessica Vaughn, Joshua Mynear– who she helped raise, Jordan (Madeline) Mynear, Justin (Shannon) Vaughn, Aaron Pope, Mikayla Mynear and Shane Mattox, 2 great-grandchildren, Claycee Mitchell and Cian Vaughn, and one to arrive in January, Brooks Clay Mynear, along with three special friends and care-givers: Kara Sexton, Patty Irvin and Tara Sexton.
She was also outstripped in the race of life by 8 brothers and sisters: Arnold Clay Bussell, Geneva Bussell, Grimes Bussell, Marshall Bussell, Anna Ruth Sexton, Lee Bussell, Alma Cannon and Virginia Bussell.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Carlisle Christian Church by Rev. Steve Smith with burial to follow in the Carlisle Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Brandon Mattox, Shane Mattox, Jordan Mynear, Joshua Mynear, Aaron Pope and Justin Vaughn.
Honorary bearers will be Ricky Bussell, Troy Bussell, Jeremy Hunt, Max Ison and Travis Mitchell.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home.
