Thomas A. “Tom” Ameche

Thomas A. “Tom” Ameche, 80, widower of the late Patricia J. “Pat” Terry Ameche, died Friday December 20, 2019 at the VA Medical Center, Leestown Rd.

He was the son of the late Don and Honore Prendergrast Ameche.  He was a retired horse transporter, a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, Paris, KY and served his country in the United States Navy.  Tom came to Kentucky to help train his father’s horses that they had at the Gentry Farm.

He is survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Bill Dahlstram; two nephews, Aaron and Becky Dahlstrom and Ben and Julie Dahlstrom; one sister, Bonnie Ameche; one brother, Don Ameche, Jr.; cousin, Patrick Ameche and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Ameche and Larry Ameche; one sister, Connie Ameche.

A memorial mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday December 27, 2019 at the Catholic Church of Annunciation 1007 Main St., Paris, KY by Father Danny Fister.  Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Paris, KY.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9:00 AM Friday December 27, 2019 until the hour of Mass at the church.

Urnbearers will be Aaron and Ben Dahlstrom.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Bluegrass Care Navigators,  1317 US HWY 62 E, Cynthiana, KY 41031

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY 40361.
