JoAnn Newman Roe
JoAnn Newman Roe, 78, wife of Eddie Calvin “Buddy” Roe, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday February 5, 2020 surrounded by her family. JoAnn was born March 16, 1941 to James Godfrey and Margaret Walters Newman.
JoAnn was Catholic by faith. Her love and passion in life was her husband and family. Anyone that knew her knows what a giving, sweet soul she was. If you ever came across her in town, you’ve probably seen numerous family photos or been given a “trinket” of some kind from her, which is her testament to her love of family and her giving heart.
She leaves behind a devoted husband and three sons, Eddie G. (Kim) Roe, Sam C. (Emily) Roe and Andy (Shayla) Roe; a sister and best friend, Judy (Si) Cleaver; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Anthony) Owens, Sarah (Kyle) Sturgeon, Sam T. (Lindsey) Roe, Tyler Roe, Landon Roe, Tanner Roe and J.P. Roe; great grandchildren, Remi Roe, Lane Roe, Mattie Ruth Sturgeon, Jovie Cate Owens and Maryn Charlotte Roe; several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Rose Helen Harney and a great granddaughter, Edie Claire Owens.
Keeping with JoAnn’s giving spirit, in lieu of services, the family requests donations to Bluegrass Hospice Care Navigators, 1317 US-62, Cynthiana, KY 41031 or the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main St., Paris, KY 40361.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY 40361.
