Ralph Wallace
Ralph Wallace, 94, husband of Ina McCray Wallace, died June 7th at his home in Paris, KY.
He was born in Garrard County, KY to the late William and Ola Johnson Wallace. Ralph retired from CSX Transportation where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and had served as a deacon for several years. During the 1960s and 1970s, he was active in the Bourbon County Band Boosters, serving as treasurer. During his lifetime, Ralph had visited all 48 states of the Continental U.S. After retirement, he spent several years building and enjoying his model train set. He loved woodworking, southern gospel music, Kentucky basketball and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 73 years, he is survived by three daughters, Linda (Woody) Berry and Cherryll (Jeff) Duncan, both of Paris, and Kathy Wallace of Lexington; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Darrell; one brother, Russell (Emma Hugh) Wallace; and two sisters, Zella (Gilbert) Calico and Dorene (Larry) Gaynor.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Central Baptist Church, 829 High Street, Paris, KY by Rev. Dan Russell and Rev. Jonathan Graves.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday, June 12, 2023 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Chris Berry, Keith Wallace, Orville Calico, Edward Gaynor, James Wallace, John Jernigan and Alvin Stamper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jolene Jernigan, Gene Crouch, Carol Stamper, Janet Castro, Connie Fischer, Jack Crump, Midge Cummins, Peggy Garrison, Ed and Ann Fitzpatrick, Glen and Kathy Mackie, and Jim Gay.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1317 US Highway 62-E, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
