John C. “Jackie” Williams

John C. “Jackie” Williams, widower of Betty Matherly Williams, age 90, of Paris, departed this life on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Georgetown Community Hospital.    Jackie was born on April 25, 1933, the son of the late Elmer and Lena Biddle Williams, was a high school graduate, and a Veteran of the United States Army.   He was a member of the Newtown Christian Church, as well as the American Legion, Paris City Club, and a Kentucky Colonel.  He enjoyed fishing, mowing, camping, clogging, and gardening.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Link, and a brother, Richard Williams.

He is survived by a son, J.C. (Marlene) Williams; five grandchildren, Keely Williams (Eric Caplan), Kyle (Becki) Yarrow, Clay (Victoria) Williams, Zack (Jess) Tilford, and Max Tilford.   Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Orion Yarrow, Bryce Tilford, Addie Tilford, and Josh Tilford. 

There was a memorial gathering on Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.   The family has chosen no formal funeral service.
