James Patrick Putman
James Patrick Putman, 42, died August 25, 2023, at his home. Jimmy was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., on September 14, 1980, to Alice and (Bryan) Patrick Putman. He attended the Canterbury School of Florida and Lakewood High School, before graduating from St. Petersburg College with a degree in elementary education in 2009. Jimmy had the biggest heart and he found room for so many in it, whether that meant a plucky kitten rescued from down the street, mistreated dogs who required special care, or people who needed to feel the warmth he radiated. He enjoyed many passions, including music, soccer, glassblowing, and teaching. But he loved nothing and no one more than his cherished daughter with whom he shared all those callings. She was the light of his life and made him prouder than anything in this world. He is survived by her, his beloved Angelica, his mother and father, his sister Dagny (Matthew) Olivares of Duluth Ga., his uncle William (Georgia) Cox II of Paris, Ky, his uncle Clark (Elaine) Putman of Stephens City, Va., and his cousin Ashley Martin and her three sons and one daughter in Owensboro, Ky.
A memorial for Jimmy will be scheduled at a later date. Donations can be made in his name to the Humane Society of Pinellas. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, help is available from the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
