Maxine West Kendall
Maxine West Kendall, wife of the late Paul Jerome Kendall, died Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the UK Hospice Center. Maxine was the daughter of the late Oties S. and Bernice West. She was a long-time resident of Paris, KY until she and Paul bought a farm in Carlisle, KY and lived there for several years and then spent their final years in Lexington, KY. Maxine was a graduate of Bourbon County High School. She was an avid quilter and loved to crochet.
She is survived by two sons, Steve (Cathy) Kendall, Georgetown, KY and Shane (Jennifer) Kendall, Lexington, KY; two grandsons, Ian (Danielle) Kendall, Herndon, VA and Maverick Kendall, Lexington, KY; five great-grandchildren, Peyton Kendall, Murfreesboro, TN, Meradyn Crump, Paris, KY, Braxton, Kizer and Tinley Kendall, Herdon, VA; two brothers, Bobby (Valerie) West, Paris, KY and Jim (Ann) West, Paris, KY; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Perkins, Carlisle, KY and Nancy West, Paris, KY; a brother-in-law, Ell Kendall, Jr., Paris, KY and several nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death not only by her husband and parents but by one granddaughter, Kaila Kendall; one sister, Joy West; a brother, Oties (Sonny) West Jr; three nieces, Jan McFarland, Kathy McFarland, Tammy Perkins and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Kendall, Lester Kendall and mother and father-in-law, Pearline and Ell Kendall, Sr.
There will be a graveside service for Maxine Kendall at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Paris Cemetery with Minister Sammy Harris officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
