Larry Collins McCord
Larry Collins McCord was born February 22nd, 1939, in Little Rock Kentucky to the late Lorine McKenzie and Robert McCord, passing away November 14th, 2023. He graduated from Paris High School in 1957 where he was a star basketball player. Not long after graduation he joined the Army where he was a Communications Specialist. After the military, he began his long career as an Engineering Technologist with the Kentucky Transportation Department. He was an avid horse lover owning many through the years with his favorite being Jack at the Bank. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Sr., Lonnie, Marvin, Gayle, Johnny, Sammy Sr., sister Neva June, a niece Joyce McCord, and nephew Sammy “Puddin” McCord Jr. Surviving is his brother William (Teresa), sisters-in-law, Violet, Charlotte, Martha M., Martha A., and Norma along with a host of nieces and nephews and loyal friend and business partner, Bobby Sturgeon.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Interment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. There will be no service.
