Lillie Mae Brooks Tubbs

Lillie Mae Brooks Tubbs, wife of Claude Thomas Tubbs, of Paris, departed this life peacefully at her home on Thursday morning, January 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 89. Lillie was born in Estill County on December 29, 1934, the daughter of the late Lee Vernon and Della Mae Means Brooks, attended Estill County School, and was a seamstress having worked at Hansley Mill and Bluegrass Textile. She was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church where she served in W.M.U. and quilted with the Willing Hands Quilters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudia Gardner; a son, Dwayne Tubbs; sister, Virginia Lee Arms; and two brothers, Johnny Ward Brooks, and Billy Ray Brooks.
Along with her husband Claude, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Roy Scott; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Anne Tubbs; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Brooks and Orville Clay Brooks; and a special daughter-in-law, Sharon Davidson.
Visitation for Lillie Mae Brooks Tubbs was held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Monday, January 22, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with funeral following at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Josh Ancello officiating. Interment followed in Paris Cemetery with casket bearers being Ronnie Joe Scott, Joe Fister, Ray Aubrey, Trevor Dixon, Dylan Scott, Steve Watts, Jason Lemaster, and Jimmy Lemaster.
