Janet White Wells

Janet White Wells, 72, loving wife of Marion “Bud” Wells, Jr. for 45 years, died Thursday February 22, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY.

She was born in Lexington, KY to the late Robert Allen and Joan Smitson White. Janet was a retired hairstylist for McAlpin’s and Dillards for several years. Her family was her greatest love, she also enjoyed her flower gardening, listening to music and was a member of the Central Christian Church of God, Georgetown, KY. Throughout their final years, devoted and selfless, Janet cared for her mother and mother-in-law; a model of humility and loyalty, never seeking accolades for her tireless efforts to make them comfortable at home. Similarly, Janet lovingly put her entire family and friends’ needs before her own.

Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Marion “Bud” Wells, Jr; two sons, Robert (Teresa) Wells and Marty (Kim) Wells; four grandchildren, Parker Wells, Grace Wells, Clayton Wells and Tyler Wells; one sister, Karen (James) Cooper; sister-in-law, Sandi Elaine; beloved canine companion, Bella; and several nieces, nephews and cousins including, David Cooper and JoAnna (Tyler) Hamilton.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one grandson, Cameron Wells.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday March 2, 2024, by Pastor Andrew Glenn at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Private burial to follow in the Paris Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Friday March 1, 2024, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Parker Wells, Grace Wells, Clayton Wells, Tyler Wells, David Cooper and David Wells. The honorary pallbearer will be Matt Wells.

The family would also like to thank Baptist Lexington and UK Medical Center for the remarkably empathetic care we received throughout her stay from the nursing and support staffs.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.

I am so sorry about Janet’s passing. She has been a wonderful friend and I loved her dearly. When I was coordinator for our seniors group at Paris First Methodist Church, she helped me so much. I prayed, “Please God, don’t take her because we need her here”! I will miss her so much.
