John Gardner Soper

John Gardner Soper, husband of Deborah “Debbie” Holbrook Soper, departed this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his home in Paris, KY, surrounded by family. John was born in Paris, Kentucky on December 17, 1948, the son of the late John Wyatt “J.W.” and Lida Earl Gardner Soper, was a graduate of the 1967 Bourbon County High School, as well as the 1972 class of Morehead State University. He taught agriculture for twenty-seven years in Greenup County, and after retirement did small engine repair. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and was a member of Little Rock Christian Church.

In addition to his wife Debbie, he is survived by a son, John Brent (Audra) Soper; a daughter, Andrea (Pete) Cook; grandchildren, Gunner Soper, Wyatt Cook, and Carter Cook. Preceding him in death was one brother, Tom Wyatt Soper.

A memorial service was held for John Gardner Soper on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Paris Cemetery Chapel officiated by Rev. Rex Graham. www.hintonturner.com
