Stephen Randall Morrison

Stephen Randall Morrison 84 of Lake Carnico Carlisle KY, also known as Papa & Uncle Steve, husband of Mary Frances Law Morrison, passed away November 7 , 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Huntington, WV November 29,1939 to the late Hubert Conway Morrison and Dorothy Speed Morrison Cox.
Steve was a 1958 graduate of Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell, KY, where he played football and basketball. Upon graduation he attended the University of Kentucky and transferred to Kentucky Wesleyan College where he graduated in 1962. After graduating he served as Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve. While attending KWC he was highly active in the Sigma Nu fraternity, serving as Lt Commander for his junior and senior years. He was elected by the student body as the most popular Senior boy as Knight of KWC. Steve also served on the Student Government Council. Steve loved his church and church family at the Paris First Methodist Church where he served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board, Sunday school teacher and treasurer, Trustee, Methodist Men president and vice president & Mission Chairman. His passion was mission work and went to Belize, Costa Rica, Africa & Mexico. He also led the local mission with the church to make Thanksgiving baskets and delivered them for the needy of our local community. Steve and his wife Mary led many Grand Camps at Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center for several years. Steve was also a Kentucky Colonel. He loved his Kentucky Wildcats and deer hunting. Through several health issues and cancer battles he still gave God all the glory for his life.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Mary Frances Law Morrison, two sons, Jeffrey Reid (Jacque) Morrison & Michael Todd Morrison both of Paris, KY, three grandchildren Lynn Marie Morrison Fuller (Kevin), Zachary Todd Morrison (Susan) and Zane Michael Johns-Morrison (Genèe) and five great grandchildren Reagan and Abigail Fuller, Georgia and Ben Morrison and Ada Johns-Morrison, a niece Devin Famulare Daniels that he raised as his own daughter from a very young age and several other nieces and nephews that he loved like his own children.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Linda Morrison Famulare and his brother Richard Conway Morrison.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday November 11, 2024 at the Paris First Methodist Church by Rev Ken Southgate, Rev Gary Graves, and a special tribute by the Bishop Debbie Wallace-Padgett. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am till time of service at the church. Burial to follow in the Millersburg Cemetery in Millersburg KY.
Pallbearers are Zachary Morrison, Zane Johns-Morrison, Dr. Kevin Fuller, Greg Morrison, Steve Bemiller and Doug Darbo. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr Scott Pierce, Dr Freddy Terrell, Wendy Birdwell, Brenda Seltman, Smoke Mathews, Rose Chafin, Judy and Larry Gray, Jerry and Martha Baker, Tonia Darbo, Dane Garber, Heather Baldwin, Linda and Mike Klutka, Anne and Roger Baird, Steve and Krista Hudson, Jordan and Trisha King, and members of the Goodwill Sunday School Class.
Hinton Turner is in charge of the funeral arrangements .
