Susan Clay Grigsby
Susan Clay Grigsby, of Wilmore, Kentucky, formerly of North Middletown, wife of Daniel DesRochers, departed this life on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, having attained the age of 66 years. Susan was born on December 8, 1957, in Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Douglas K. Clay, Jr. and Jane Clay Clarke Bridgewater, was a 1975 graduate of Bourbon County High School as well as a 1979 graduate of Transylvania University where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was retired, having worked as the Export Coordinator and Office Manager at Hagyard Equine Medical for 34 years, enjoyed creative writing, and was devoted to her family, friends, and pets. She loved her Bourbon County roots and enjoyed reading the weekly paper. She was a member of the North Middletown Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her late husband of 34 years, Jim Grigsby.
Along with her husband Daniel, she is survived by her brother, Charles Douglas Clay; a niece, Sarah Maria Clay; brother-in-law, Rick (Pam) DesRochers and her DesRochers family. She is also survived by many close friends who were like sisters.
The memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, with Rev. Stephanie Moon officiating. The Memorial Gathering will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time for the service.
