Charlotte Magalene Fugate Kelly, aged 75, embraced a peaceful departure on March 17, 2025, in Lexington, Ky. Born on July 29, 1949, in Hazard, Ky, Charlotte’s vivacious spirit and kind heart touched everyone she knew.
Charlotte received her high school diploma from Hardin County Schools setting the foundation for a diligent and successful career. Charlotte dedicated many years of hard work before retiring from Bourbon Laundry and Kentucky Textiles, where she formed lasting friendships and left an indelible mark on her colleagues.
Charlotte’s zeal for life was evident through her passionate involvement in a multitude of interests. She reveled in the joys of travel, the excitement of a good gamble, the delight of a shopping spree, the challenge of a Scrabble game, and the comfort of a book. Willow, her cherished cat, was her constant companion in quieter moments of snuggles and serenity.
Predeceased by her husband Mickel Kelly, her parents Sewell Fugate and Dorothy Spencer Hamblin, as well as several beloved brothers and sisters, Charlotte’s legacy continues through her devoted son Mickey Kelly (Lillie), her loving daughter Joy Miller (Shawn), and her adored grandchildren Autumn Ritchie, Madalyn Kelly, Lucas Kelly, and Isabella Miller.
Charlotte’s radiant smile and generous nature will be forever remembered and dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
