Willie J. Snowden Jr., aged 66, of Georgetown, KY, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 16, 2025, in Paris, KY. Born on March 1, 1959, to the late Willie Snowden Sr. and Pricilla Snowden, Willie lived a fulfilling life characterized by his entrepreneurial spirit and his profound love for the great outdoors.
Willie built a life that reflected the values most dear to him: hard work, dedication, and family. He took gratification in operating his own Fiber Installation Business, servicing his community and creating opportunities for those around him while upholding an exceptional standard in his professional endeavors. He was also actively involved in numerous associations, contributing his time and expertise wherever it was needed.
An avid outdoorsman, Willie relished in the activities that allowed him to engage with nature. Whether it was fishing at dawn, hunting in the coolness of autumn, or tending to his garden under the warm sun, he found peace and joy in these simple pleasures. His love for horses ran deep, offering him a sense of companionship and adventure. Willie was also a gifted mechanic, often found tinkering with cars, transferring his knowledge and passion to anyone willing to learn.
Above all else, Willie was a dedicated family man. His home was filled with the laughter of children, the warmth of shared stories, and the enduring presence of love and support.
He leaves behind an adoring family: his children, Lenea Snowden, Jonathan Snowden, and Jennifer Snowden; siblings, George Snowden, Dwight Hill, Nathan Hill, and Kim Aplom; his beloved aunts, Imojene Barber, Fannie Johnson, Flora Nichols, and Katie Wilson; cherished grandchildren, Melina Snowden, Alyssa Snowden, Merideth Snowden, Tayvon Snowden, and Jordan Snowden; and one treasured great-grandchild, Sariyah Snowden. His legacy also lives through his nieces, Margret Snowden and Andrea Snowden; nephew, Phillip Campbell; and the esteemed special family friend, Hope Nutter Snowden, beside numerous cousins who will all fondly remember his profound impact on their lives.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents and his dear sister, Joyce Snowen Sears.
A man of deep convictions and gentle spirit, Willie’s life was one of vibrant engagement, marked by the various roles he so effortlessly embraced—business owner, nature enthusiast, and family cornerstone. His ability to bring joy to every occasion, offer wisdom in times of need, and provide a listening ear to anyone in distress defined the remarkable person that he was.
Willie J. Snowden Jr.’s memory will be lovingly carried forward by those who were fortunate to cross paths with him, and his teachings will be passed down for generations to come.
His light, though no longer present in this realm, remains a guiding beacon for family and friends who had the privilege to know and love this extraordinary man.
