Dorothy Louise Offutt, 94, went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2025, in Georgetown, Kentucky. Dorothy was born on January 25, 1931, in Georgetown, Kentucky, to the late Everett “Doc” Offutt Sr, and Sarah Nervolia “Boli” Bratton Offutt. Dorothy will be remembered as someone who had a kind, nurturing, and sweet soul. Dorothy lived a simple life; she was a mother to all, she helped raise many of her nieces, nephews, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews. She was firm in faith in the Lord. She retired from Cooperative Extension. In her younger days, she loved to play Rook with her siblings weekly. Dorothy was involved in her church, Penn Memorial Baptist Church, with all the activities they would do. Dorothy was also a Kentucky Colonel and very much involved in 4-H. Dorothy will be missed dearly. The family would like to send their appreciation for the care and kindness that was shown by the staff at Hometown Manor to Dorothy.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her two brothers, Raymond (Betty Margaret) Offutt of Mt. Vernon and Everett (the late Penny) Offutt, Jr. of Georgetown, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Bill and J.C. Offutt, and one sister, Thelma Mitchell.
A visitation will be held, Friday, May 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM TO 1:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, May 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Ronnie McClure officiating. Burial will follow with Bob Offutt, Dan Offutt, Mark Offutt, Heath Hope, Ron Mitchell, and Jared Offutt serving as pallbearers. Drew Pritchett, Andy Pritchett, Chloe Hope, Haley Hope, Jimmy Ray Offutt, Phil Hope, Gavin Hope, Carter Offutt, Steve Offutt, and Bobby Hope will serve as honorary pallbearers.
