Kenneth Wayne Stocker
Kenneth Wayne Stocker, age 92, widower of Betty Jo Brown Stocker, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born September 24, 1932 in Madison County, Kentucky, son of the late Curtis and Maranda Kanatzar Stocker.
Wayne served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955, stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War. He moved to Paris, Kentucky with his late wife, Betty Jo Stocker, in 1962. Wayne bought half interest in Fullington’s Clothing Store in 1964 while also opening the Downtown Aquarium Shop around 1965 with Roy Ed Williams. He took complete ownership of Fullington’s in 1966 and stayed in business on Main Street in that location for the next 20 plus years. After selling his business on Main Street, Wayne became a District Manager for Modern Woodmen of America and retired at the age of 78.
He had served on the Paris Independent School Board, two time president for the Chamber of Commerce, served on the Bourbon County Fair Board for 18 years, two time president of the Paris Lions Club, vice chairman of the Paris Housing Authority, member of the American Legion Post 30, president of the Paris/Bourbon County Goat Association, chairman of Korean War Association, served eight years on the Paris-Bourbon County Library Board, and was past president of the Paris Retail Merchant Association.
Wayne is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amie and Brian Boyle; granddaughter, Taylor Marie Robinson; step grandson, Coleman Boyle; a brother, Dan (Beverly) Stocker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
