Born in Louisville and raised in Paris, Kentucky, Tinder graduated from Paris High School before earning his degree from the University of Kentucky. He built a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in the financial services industry, where he earned the trust of his clients and the admiration of his colleagues through his integrity, passion, and genuine care for others. In 2024, he returned to Morgan Stanley alongside his dear friend and longtime associate, Anne Oliver, a reunion that brought him great joy.
While proud of his professional accomplishments, Tinder’s greatest legacy was the way he lived his life and the countless people he impacted along the way. He possessed an infectious smile, a sparkle in his eye, and an unmistakable laugh that could brighten any room. With his quick wit and mischievous sense of humor, he had a remarkable ability to make people feel comfortable from the moment they met him. He was endlessly generous with his time, fiercely loyal to his friends, and never missed an opportunity to bring people together. Above all, people loved being around Tinder because he made life more enjoyable.
He found great happiness on the golf course, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, traveling with family and friends, and spending time in Naples, Florida. A longtime member of Lexington Country Club, many of his most treasured friendships were built over rounds of golf, shared meals, and a good glass of Cabernet.
In recent years, Tinder and Lois embraced every opportunity to make memories together, whether traveling, entertaining friends, or simply enjoying life’s everyday moments. Their time together was filled with laughter, adventure, and deep love.
Tinder will be remembered not only by his family, but also by the many friends, clients, colleagues, and neighbors whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering friendship. His presence had a way of making every gathering brighter, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Rhiannon Pineros for the extraordinary care and friendship she so generously provided.
A private family service will be held at Paris Cemetery.
