Julio Josua Infantes

Julio Josua Infantes, Jr., known affectionately as Josua to his friends and family, passed away on May 23, 2024, in Paris, Kentucky. Born on February 25, 1988, in Lexington, Kentucky, Josua’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His life was filled with joy, passion, and a love for his family that knew no bounds.

Josua was the beloved son of Julio Josue Infantes Sr. and Tammy Jane Newman, and a cherished stepson to Margie Infantes. He grew up alongside his caring sister, Janey E. Darmron, and was a pillar of support and affection to his uncle and aunts, Caner (Bo) Newman III, . Josua’s life was further enriched by the love of his children, Julio Josue Infantes III and Octavia Jan Infantes, and his stepdaughter, Lilly Fryman. The profound love he shared with the mother of his children, Jamie D. Fryman, was evident in the beautiful family they built together.

The Infantes family tree is vast, with deep roots and numerous branches. Josua was the grandson of Pedro Infantes, Adila Cadillo de Infantes, Caner Newman II, and Delfia Newman. His aunts and uncles, Amelia, Jenner, Nury, Enedina (Linda) Infantes, Lorgio Miranda, Jaime Miranda, Orlando Cadillo, Delia Cadillo, Nestor Cadillo, and Richard Cadillo, played significant roles in his life. His godparents, Pedro A. Espinoza and Cecylia Espinoza, instilled in him a sense of faith and guidance. A host of cousins, including Jessita, Ceci, Peter, Bella Adilla Infantes, Veronica Espinoza -Cousin, Tony Miranda -cousin, Bobby Miranda -cousin, Yolanda Miranda -cousin, Jaimito Miranda -cousin, Martin,Blanca, and William Javier – cousin, Pancho, Celina, Magda, y Carlos Pachas -cousin, Tia Elcira, Beto, Danilo, Roque, and Shonna Infantes – cousins, Rosa, Elena, Rubi, Pedro, Maru, and Maqui Infantes – cousins, Pellu Infantes Pachas -cousin, Roosevelt, and Walter Mishti -cousin, Tia Ceferina, Patricia D Shewmake -Step sister, Rex Simpson -Stepbrother, Timothy Tucker – Stepbrother, Travis Tucker -Stepbrother, Stephanie Hustler -Stepsister, and many others, will fondly remember the joyous times shared with Josua.

Josua’s professional life was marked by dedication and hard work, exemplified by his role as an assistant manager at Auto Zone in Lexington, KY. He brought the same commitment to his community involvement, as a former Boy Scout, where he learned the values of service and leadership. An avid sports fan, he relished the thrills of soccer, Kentucky Basketball, and American Football. His love for entertainment was just as strong, with favorites like Game of Thrones, The Witcher, and Harry Potter capturing his imagination.

A devout member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Paris, KY, Josua’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. His Peruvian heritage shone through in his love for La comida Peruana, with dishes like cau-cau, tallarin verde, and ceviche being some of his favorites. Childhood memories of playing with a little donkey in Peru remained a cherished anecdote he loved to share. His passion for pop culture was evident in his enthusiasm for Dragon Ball Z, Zelda, and Indiana Jones. Josua’s adventurous spirit led him to enjoy the thrills of Six Flags, with the Magic Kingdom being his favorite ride.

Josua’s zest for life took him on many adventures, including a memorable trip to Las Vegas with his aunt, where he experienced the charm of Venice through the Gondolas and the Hotel Venezia. His ability to find wonder and excitement in every experience was contagious, inspiring those around him to embrace life with the same fervor.

Those who knew Josua will remember him as a funny, loving, and friendly individual, whose presence could light up a room. He had a natural talent for making others laugh and feel at ease, and his compassionate heart made him a friend to many. His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Julio Josua Infantes, Jr., we take solace in the memories that he has left behind. His life’s journey was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith. Josua’s legacy will endure through the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he gave so freely. As we honor his memory, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a journey marked by joy, commitment, and an unwavering spirit.

Funeral Mass was conducted at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 28, 2024 at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main St., Paris, KY by Father Danny Fister.

Visitation was from 5-8 PM Monday May 27, 2024 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.

There will be a visitation, Mass and burial later this week in Chicago, Il.
