Daniel (Dan) W. Fiscel, a beloved brother and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on August 24, 1948, in Logansport, Indiana, Dan lived a life that was rich in creativity, passion, and love for those around him.Dan was the cherished son of Wayne Roscoe Fiscel and Madge Thelma Fiscel (Beamer). He is preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Eugene Fiscel, whose memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew them. He leaves behind a loving family, including his brother Jon Fiscel, sister-in-law Stacy Fiscel, and nephew Shane Fiscel, who will miss his warmth, humor, and the unconditional support he so freely offered.
Dan’s life was marked not only by his familial bonds but also by his ability to bring joy and creativity to the lives of others. He was married twice throughout his life, yet in his later years, he found contentment living single in Paris, Kentucky, surrounded by friends and neighbors who appreciated his kind spirit and engaging conversation.
A man of diverse interests, Dan had a particular passion for the arts. His favorite hobbies included painting, creating intricate jewelry, and enveloping himself in the melodies of his favorite music. A true connoisseur of sound, he found delight in 60’s English rock bands, with Uriah Heep holding a special place in his heart. His love for music was only rivaled by his adoration for his truck, motorcycles, and fast cars, which brought him a sense of freedom and adventure.
A graduate of high school and barbershop school, Dan dedicated much of his life to working at Walmart, where he performed various roles with diligence and a generous spirit. He approached every task with a positive attitude and an infectious smile, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues and customers alike.
In his final days, the family extends a heartfelt thank you to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, particularly the compassionate staff of the 12th floor ICU. Their dedicated care and kindness offered Dan comfort and dignity during his last moments, and for that, the family is eternally grateful.
Dan W. Fiscel’s life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and a zest for life that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. As we remember him, let us cherish the joy, laughter, and artistic spirit he shared with us. Though he is no longer with us in body, his vibrant spirit will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him.
A celebration of life service will be held to remember Dan’s remarkable life in the coming months in Logansport, Indiana.
