Edmond Lane Boyle
Edmond Lane Boyle, age 84, husband of Mary Adele Bryant Boyle, died peacefully at his home, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Edmond was born in Paris, Kentucky on May 09, 1940, the son of the late Dudley and Eva Jane McFarland Boyle, was a graduate of Paris High School, and attended the University of Kentucky. For fifty plus years he worked as the maintenance foreman at Claiborne Farms, and he along with others, considered him a true “Claiborneer.” He was a huge fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, both football and basketball and enjoyed tailgating with those closest to him. He was an avid reader, enjoyed writing poetry, keeping up with the most current happenings at Claiborne Farms, and wrote the forward to the book, Doing the Usual Unusually Well: A History of Claiborne Farm, by: Edward L. Bowen. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation and after joining, he enjoyed his extended church family. With all his accomplishments in life, the most important thing to him was that he be remembered as a loyal son, brother, husband, and father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Coleman Boyle, and a brother, Donald Boyle.
Along with his current wife Mary, he is survived by a son, Brian E. (Amie) Boyle; a daughter, Laura Boyle; grandchildren, Tyler Boyle and Coleman Boyle. He is also survived by stepchildren, Bo Gorey, Jeannie (Jeff) Goethe, Julie Gorey, Diane Gorey; step-grandchildren, Taylor Robinson, Alex Goethe, Andy Goethe, Jay Goethe, Michael Goethe, Sara Goethe, Hanna Lake, Emily Griffith, Josh Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Eric Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Mary Kate Johnson, Nathan Ashcraft, and Kaylee Ashcraft.
The visitation for Edmond Lane Boyle will be on Thursday evening, February 20, 2025, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation with Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Estacio officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Tyler Boyle, Coleman Boyle, Casey Wilson, Todd Wiegele, Matthew Boyle, and Josh Johnson. Honorary bearers are Hugh Crombie, Charlton Cox, Tommy Tobin, Don Robertson, Joe Larry Eads, Kathy Boyle, Christopher Jones, William “Speedy” Woodford, and Ronnie Tipton.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US Highway 62E, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
In Edmond’s own words: “Life is a mystery, it’s amazing how everything becomes clearer and clearer as you age. It’s just like reading a book… just sit down, relax and turn the page. “
