Jerry Clay Harp

Jerry Clay Harp, age 61, husband of Lisa Gail McCarty Harp, departed this life on December 24, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.   He was born in Paris on April 1, 1958, the son of the late William Henry and Ivarene Tucker Becraft Harp.   Jerry was a 1976 graduate of Bourbon County High School, worked as a maintenance mechanic at Avantor, was a member of the Bluegrass Horse Pulling Association, Bluegrass Pony Pullers Association, and a member of First Church of God.

Besides his wife Lisa, he is survived by a son, Jeremy Harp (Cynthia); grandchildren, Katie Harp and Dillon Biddle; his siblings, Deborah Beaton (John), Susan Logan (Mark), Billy Ray Harp (Teresa), and Gary Lane Harp.   Also, surviving is his mother-in-law, Lake McCarty; a sister-in-law, Stacie McCarty; brother-in-law, Kennie McCarty (Mary Jane); and two special friends, Destinee Clark and Sherri Cheek.

The funeral service for Jerry Clay Harp will be at First Church of God on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Morgan Gilkey officiating.   Interment will follow in Clintonville Cemetery with casket bearers being Casey Jones, Pete Jones, Todd Harp, Jeff Gibson, Mike Furnish, and Jason O’Neil.     Visitation will be on Friday, December 27, 2019, at First Church of God between the hours of 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
