Billy R. Stamper
Billy R. Stamper of Paris, KY, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at his residence, at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 19 days. He was born Saturday, April 6, 1940, at Dry Fork, KY, in Letcher County, son of the late Fred and Lovell Cornett Stamper.
Billy was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Florida and Lake Erie. He was a construction worker and also retired from UPS. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Fred and Lovell Stamper, he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Wardie and Hazel Craft; two sisters, Eva Jean Panther and Geraldine Holden; and three brothers, Charles Stamper, Howard Stamper, and Wayne Stamper.
He is survived by two sons, Richard (Jeanna) Stamper of West Liberty, KY and Michael (Sherry) Stamper of Dayton, OH; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Stamper (Billy Crase) of Georgetown, KY; two brothers, Clennon (Tammy) Stamper and Douglas (Glenna) Stamper of West Liberty, KY; a special friend, Wanda Richard of Paris, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Roger McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery, Caney, KY. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Mason Berry, Harold Stamper, Steven Stamper, Billy Crase, Jimmy Sparks, and Mike Stamper.
