Patricia “Patty” “Chubbs” Hudnall Carpenter
Patricia “Patty” “Chubbs” Hudnall Carpenter, 82, widow of the late Richard Carpenter, died Saturday June 24, 2023, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY.
She was born in Paris, KY to the late Hallie Hudnall, Sr., and the late Lola Rankin Hudnall and graduate of Paris High School. Patty retired from Kentucky Bank after 38 years of service and then worked at the Paris Police Department as a dispatcher and in administration for 15 years. The Paris Police Department and the Bourbon County Sheriff’s office were like family to her, she made sure they were all fed well and taken care of, she was also very active in the Paris Citizens Police Academy. She was a long time and very active member of the First Baptist Church, where she was the lead on meals that the church prepared for grieving families after funerals.
She is survived by three children, Sharon “Cricket” (Doug) Singer, Rick (Lisa) Carpenter and Steve (Christy) Carpenter; six grandchildren, Zachary (Kaylee) Carpenter, Nathan (Kaity) Carpenter, Evan (Lindsay) Carpenter, Shane Singer, Kara (Tyler) Rose and Brent Holbrook; twelve great grandchildren, Ty Singer, Jensen Carpenter, Gentry Carpenter, Zayley Singer, Paxton Singer, Brenick Singer, Kaizley Singer, Langston Singer, Arden Rose, Kane Holbrook, Haley Holbrook and Connor Holbrook; one great great grandchild, Breanna Holbrook; two sisters-in-law, Alice Hudnall, Nita Ross; two brothers-in-law, Woody Clark and Roy Poe; special friend, Jane Mogge and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Patrisha Ann Singer, and Shane Douglas Singer; four sisters, Elizabeth Dryden, Mildred Finn, Peggy Yazell and Martha Poe; four brothers, Hallie Hudnall, Jr., Tommy Hudnall, Bobby Joe Hudnall and William “Hotshot” Hudnall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday July 1, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 919 Pleasant St., Paris, KY by Rev. Kyle Sullivan, and Rev. Gary Ellcessor. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday June 30, 2023, at the church.
Pallbearers will be Zach Carpenter, Nathan Carpenter, Evan Carpenter, Ty Singer, Gary Royalty, Bobby Sturgeon, Timmy Sosby and Sam Craycraft.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Burke, Kara Rose, Paris Police Department, Bourbon County Sheriff’s Department, and the Paris Citizens Police Academy.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church, Fanny Franklin Fund.
