Nellie Catherine Bishop Jones
Nellie Catherine Bishop Jones, widow of William Bradley Jones, departed this life on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Bourbon Heights, having attained the age of 93 years. Nellie was born in Paris, Kentucky on May 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles L. and Ruth Claire Bowles Bishop, a graduate of Paris High School, and was retired, having worked as a waitress at Overby’s and Iron Rail Restaurant. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Willa Clark; sister, Barbara Tincher; two brothers, Erastus Nelson and Bruce Bishop.
Surviving is a son, John William (Sue) Jones; grandchildren, Candice Williams (Jason Perry), Debbie (Jewell) Woosley, Dawn Renee Throckmorton, and Jerri Ann (Jonathan) Smith. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Holly Williams, Megan Disciplina, Will Davis, Aaron Davis, Jayden Throckmorton, and Christian Cummins. Also surviving are eleven great great grandchildren, three great great great grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Lanter, Sheila Mers, Shelby Barnett; and a brother Tommy Bishop.
The funeral service for Nellie Catherine Bishop Jones will be at 12 noon on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Paris Cemetery Chapel with Chaplain Phillip Moody officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 until time for the service. Honorary bearers will be Will Davis, Aaron Davis, Trey Stout, Donavan Griggs, Javon Griggs, Devin Griggs, Alex Davis, Adriana Palacios, Benny Disciplina, Mateo Disciplina, Christian Cummins, Jayden Throckmorton, Jewell Woosley, and Jerry Clark. www.hintonturner.com
