Samuel Dalton “Sam” Chanslor

Samuel Dalton “Sam” Chanslor, age 70, husband of Melanie Brewer Chanslor of Millersburg, departed this life on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Sam was born in Paris, KY on June 29, 1953, the son of the late Ronald Lee and Elizabeth Ann Brooks Chanslor, was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, Cincinnati Bible Seminary, and received his Master’s in education from the University of Kentucky. He was a minister having served at Mount Carmel Christian, Blue Licks, and Hilltop Christian Church, as well as having taught school in the Special Education department for 35 years. He was also the former Mayor and a council member for Millersburg, and a current member of Ruddles Mills Christian Church. 

In addition to his wife Melanie, he is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Shelpman; two grandsons, Cain Shelpman, and Cavin Shelpman. Also surviving are two brothers, Lee (Jane) Chanslor, Doug (Tonia) Chanslor; seven nieces and nephews; as well as several great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral service for Samuel Dalton “Sam” Chanslor will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Ruddles Mills Christian Church with Rev. John McGuire officiating. Interment  followed in Millersburg Cemetery.   Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the church. www.hintonturner.com
