Ronald Gene “Ronnie” Amyx
Ronald Gene “Ronnie” Amyx, 74, husband of Judy Freeman Amyx, died Tuesday October 31, 2023, at Baptist Health, Lexington, KY.
He was born in Connersville, IN to the late Albert Clinton Amyx and the late Mary Elizabeth Johnson Amyx. Ronnie was retired from the Paris Police Department and the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office with over 25 years of serving our community. After retiring Ronnie began his career of driving tour buses for several different country music groups, including Exile and Little Texas. He also joined the Bourbon County Sherrif’s Office later in life as a Special Deputy for court security. He was an avid golfer, loved to tell jokes and make people laugh and was a member of the First Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Freeman Amyx; two stepchildren, Aaron (Kendra) Herrington and Jessica Herrington; one grandson, Aiden Herrington; one brother, Roger (Wanda) Amyx; one stepbrother, Bill Amyx; one sister, Cindy Norka; one aunt, Ruth Johnson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Landers and Barbara Charles and one stepsister, Kay Amyx.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday November 7, 2023, at the First Church of God, 200 Bethlehem Rd., Paris, KY by Bro. Tim Pierce.
Visitation will be at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, until the hour of service at the church.
