George Morris “Ganz” Dayton

George Morris “Ganz” Dayton, beloved husband of Susan Curtis-Dayton, departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky having attained the age of 59 years.   George was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy as a diver; served with NATO; worked as a team leader at C.M.W.A.; loved food, cooking, shoes, fashion, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.   More importantly, he was the most kind, gentle, and loving spouse anyone could ever hope to have, had an amazing love for his stepchildren, and adored his pups.

In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by stepsons, Graham (Shelby) Harris, Daniel (Terri) Curtis, and Elijah Curtis.  Also surviving are the family pups, Cash, Rebel, and Thompson.  In addition to his immediate family, Ganz is survived by his surrogate family, Gary and Phyllis Earlywine, Greg and Vivian Earlywine, Brian Earlywine, Brent and Kelsee Earlywine, as well as many surrogate nieces and nephews.

Ganz was a valuable and dedicated team member at CMWA.  He was known for his enthusiasm, self-disciple and was passionate about the safety of others.  He was pleasant to be around and was proud of his accomplishments in moving into a leadership role.  Ganz was ambitious, hardworking, which he set the example for his team.  His smile was contagious as he always made it a point to say hello when he encountered a co-worker, and quick to lend a hand if someone was struggling.  He truly had a positive influence on everyone around him, and he will be greatly missed by his CMWA family.

There will be a memorial gathering from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on December 1, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.

The family suggest memorial donations to Paris Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), 6 Legion Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
