Jason Shane “Wagz” Wagoner

Jason Shane “Wagz” Wagoner of Paris, departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at his home, having attained the age of 45 years. Jason was born in Paris on December 2, 1978, the son of Stephen and Lori Ogle Wagoner, was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, attended Western Kentucky University, and was a member of Faith Assembly of God. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and U.K. basketball.

In addition to his parents Stephen and Lori, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Betty Foster Ogle; godson, Taylor Mitchell; aunts and uncles, Kenny and Kim Hurst, Mike Ells, Robert Wagoner, Jr., and Beverlee Wagoner. Also surviving are his cousins, Ashlee Wagoner, Joshua Roe, Jesseca Roe, Cameron “CJ” Roe, Kelli Hurst, and Krista Hurst. He was a very devoted uncle to his small second cousins, Danille Hurst, A’ylanna Jackson, Megan Carpenter, Oliver Wilson, Leona Wilson, and Donavon Carpenter. Preceding Jason in death was his grandparents, Barbara and Robert Wagoner, Rodney Ogle; aunt, Linda “Bunjy” Wagoner; and a cousin, Daniel Hurst.

The funeral service for Jason Shane “Wagz” Wagoner will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Pastor Gerrol Finch officiating. Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Neil Crump, Jason Mitchell, Barry Adkins, Zach Claypool, and Brad Linville.
