Anne Holbrook Welsh

Anne Holbrook Welsh, 97, wife of the late John A. Welsh, Jr. and sister of the late Charles and Otis Holbrook, passed away on Jan. 28, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Cam S. and Mary F. Holbrook and was born in Bourbon Co. Anne graduated from Center Hill High School and attended Berea College. She earned a Master’s degree from UK in Special Education and spent her career teaching before moving to Fayette Co. School Central Office and working in Administration prior to retirement.

She is survived by her children, James W. Welsh (Ethel), Teresa Campbell Welsh, and Julia Long; her grandchildren, Scott Welsh (Sara), Aaron Welsh (Ashley), Adam Swiggett, Ben Swiggett, and Dawn Ansorian; and many great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thurs., Feb. 1, 2024, from 12 to 1:30 pm and service at 1:30 pm at Milward-Broadway in Lexington, KY. Burial was at the Jacksonville Cemetery in Bourbon County. Pallbearers were: Scott Welsh, Adam Swiggett, Ben Swiggett, Aaron Welsh, Wardie Sebastian, Jr., James Miles, and Jonathan Sebastian.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Stan Adkins, Wanda and Bill Sprinkle, Carroll Biddle, Lorna Cloud, Debra Waggoner, Jan Barthle, Kim Lang, and the Staff of Bourbon Heights Nursing Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington or Silas Baptist Church in Bourbon County.
