Johnny Wendell Livengood
Johnny Wendell Livengood, 87, husband of Nancy Trussell Livengood, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
Born December 15, 1936 in Nicholas County to the late John and Mary Ritchie Livingood, he was a lifelong farmer, a former MMI employee, retired after working for Paris Stockyards for 38 years, and also worked for Indian Creek Farm for several years. He and Nancy attended the Ruddles Mill Methodist Church. Johnny was a fun-loving, family man who cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite holiday was Christmas and he always took great joy in spending it with all his loved ones.
Additional survivors include four children: Darrell (Rosemary) Livengood of Nicholasville, Tammy (Isaac) Landsaw of Carlisle, Sharon (Doug) Green of Paris and Johnny William Livengood of Carlisle; a sister, Elizabeth Hughes of Ewing; a special nephew, Marvin (Sue) Jones of Morehead; seven grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Livengood, Ashley (Wesley) Smith, Sarah Landsaw, Isaac Landsaw, Jr., Shawn Green (Brianna Neal), Kandice (Jacob) Irvin and Dustin Green; two great-grandchildren, Gatlin Irvin and Oliver Green, and one on the way, Maggie May Irvin, along with a large extended family.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Roy B. Livingood and Leonard Livingood; and four sisters: Samantha Platt, Kathleen Jones, Margaret Wagoner and Clarine Howard.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 6th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Casketbearers are Dustin Green, Oliver Green, Shawn Green, Gatlin Irvin, Jacob Irvin, Isaac Landsaw, Jr., Michael Livengood and Wesley Smith.
Honorary bearers are Jerry Mann and Keith Shelburne.
Visitation was after 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.
