James Jones

James L. Jones of North Middletown, KY, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at his residence, at the age of 78 years, seven months, and seven days. He was born Saturday, December 8, 1945 in Sharpsburg, KY, son of Harold and Lucy Guy Jones.

James was united in marriage to Deborah Taulbee. This union was blessed with three children, Johnnie Wayne, Jennifer Ann, & James Lewis. He was a retired Textile Factory Supervisor and Farmer. He was a Christian and member of the Little Rock Christian Church in Little Rock, KY. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucy Jones; two sisters, Stella and Geneva; and four brothers, Billy, Bobby, Charles, and Jay.

James is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Taulbee Jones; three children, Johnnie Wayne Jones (Gail) of North Middletown, KY, Jennifer Ann Ramey (Anthony) of Paris, KY, and James Lewis Jones, Jr. (Stacy) of Sharpsburg, KY; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary and Alberta; and two brothers, Virgil and Rex.

Funeral service was at 1 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, West Liberty, KY, with Bro. Rex Graham officiating. Burial followed in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation was from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Anthony Ramey, Roger Centers, Stephen Centers, Richard Centers, Adam Downing, Jim Dunn, Dillon Catron, and Stephen Eads.
