Hazel Rowe Jude

Hazel Rowe Jude, a cherished pillar of love and faith, passed into eternal rest on April 14, 2025, in Lexington, KY. Born on May 18, 1943, in the tranquil hills of Estep Ridge, WV, Hazel’s spirit was a beacon that guided and warmed the hearts of all who knew her.
Hazel was the beloved wife of Theodore Roy “T.R.” Jude, to whom she was married for an impressive 63 years. She was a tenderhearted mother to her two sons, Roy (Becky Power) Jude and David (Stacy) Jude. Hazel’s love further extended to her cherished granddaughter, Rachel (Dustin) Cole, and her two precious great-grandchildren, Carson Allen Cole and Clara Grace Cole. Her devotion to her family was a testament to her nurturing soul.
The second oldest of six siblings, she shared an unbreakable bond with her brothers, Gene Olen (Christa) Rowe and Hobert (Pearl Silver) Rowe, and her sisters, Betty (Ivan Lee) Rowe, Phyllis (David) Cornelius, and Birdie (Bob Cook) Sargent, all of whom will continue to honor her legacy through their own lives. Her extended family of several nieces, nephews, and cousins, too, will hold her memory dear.
Throughout her career as an Administrative Specialist for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Hazel’s diligence and commitment to service were apparent. In her retirement, she carried this same spirit into her devout involvement with Bedford Acres Christian Church. As a member of the Golden Age Ministries, women’s Bible study, and the Seekers and Believers Sunday School Class, she inspired many with her steadfast faith and compassion.
An epitome of creativity and joy, Hazel’s love for music was profound. A first-team all-state flute player from Ieager, West Virginia, she also self-taught guitar and piano and was exploring the banjo in her later years. Her love for gardening and sewing were other facets of her multifaceted talents, reflecting the beauty she saw in life.
Hazel was the embodiment of love, faith-filled vigor, and thoughtfulness. Her legacy will forever be imprinted in the many lives she touched and the family she adored. Her luminous spirit will dance among the stars and in the hearts of those who loved her, eternally.
