James Shelton “Pete” Mastin

James Shelton “Pete” Mastin, age 64, husband of Annette Mastin, departed this life at his home in Paris, Kentucky on Sunday, January 25, 2026. James was born on May 20, 1961, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, the son of Wanda Mae Mattox Pennington and the late James Leonard Mastin, was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, and had been a construction worker for Judy Construction for eighteen years and enjoyed farming. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Naomi Mattox, Jim and Geneva Mastin, and an uncle, Jimmy Mattox.
Along with his mom, Wanda, and his loving wife Annette, he is survived by his children, Shelton Mastin, Brent Mastin, Romeo (Lauren) McIntosh, Natasha (Josh) Bryant, Sammy (Ashley) Mastin, Rachel (Charlie) Kiskaden; brother, Stacy Mastin; twelve grandchildren, Caroline, Pasley, Carson, Cheyenne, Jasmine, Everett Allen, Elijah, Nevaeh, Tyler, Cheyenne, Austin, Christian; and one great grandchild, Delilah. Also surviving is his stepfather, Kelly Pennington; sisters-in-law, Tammy and Carla Bryant who had been loving and helpful care takers; an uncle, Joe Mastin; an aunt, Barbara Clough; two cousins, Lisa Fasnacht, Joe Mastin, Jr.; and a nephew, Brett Haley.
Hinton-Turner Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of James Shelton “Pete” Mastin with the family choosing cremation. A memorial gathering and service will follow at a later date to be held at Shawhan Baptist Church. www.hintonturner.com
