Francis Gayle Lawrence

Francis Gayle Lawrence, 87, died Monday February 12, 2024, at his home in Paris, KY.

He was born in Paris, KY to the late Charles Thomas and Beatrice Hopkins Lawrence. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at the TB Hospital and Eastern State Hospital, where he helped maintain the boiler system for both places. He attended Paris City Schools, was an avid UK fan, in his youth he had traveled the world and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Gayle walked 5 miles every day for several years, he enjoyed watching old classic TV shows like Gunsmoke, The Rifleman and Wells Fargo as well as criminal crime shows.

He is survived by several relatives, Angela Crispin, Dwayne (Lisa) Lawrence, Larry Gray, Sandy (David) Dotson, Tommy (Gail) Lawrence, Michelle (Joe) Stevens, Barbara (Ricky) Stone, Kay Jackson, Wilma (Karl) Florence and Wendy Berry.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings, Betty Jean Lawrence, Martha Jane Jackson, Juanita Jeanette Tipton and Charles Lawrence, Jr. and four nephews, Jeffrey Lane Lawrence, Ricky Allen Tipton, James (Jimmy) Lemon Tipton and Regan Lee Gray.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday February 19, 2024, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., by David Dotson. Burial to follow in the Paris Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Monday February 19, 2024, until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Lawrence, Dwayne Lawrence, Larry Gray, Bobby Gray, Shawn Turner, Todd Lawrence and Jeremy Turner.
