Mellicue Samuel Townley, Jr.
Mellicue Samuel Townley, Jr., 72, of Mt. Sterling passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 20, 1950 to the late Mellicue Samuel Townley, Sr and Merlyn Daphne Wilard in Bland County, Virginia. He was a Wildlife Biologist and a CDL Truck Driver.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Warren Townley of Mt. Sterling, KY; three sons, Dwain Townley (Tabitha) of Rocky Gap, VA, Joseph Townley of Grand Junction, CO and Matthew Townley (Gillian) of Wilkes-Barre, PA; six daughters, Rachel Townley of Grand Junction, CO, Emmalee Cabral (Ishmael) of Denver, CO, Regina Bohn (Tyrel) of Billings, MT, Katherine Chairez (Daniel) of Denver, CO, Mellcia Webster (Ronald) of Lexington, KY and Victoria Townley of Carlisle, KY; sister, Sharon Hall (Jim) of Grand Junction, CO; two sisters-in-law, Lois Cooke (Kevin) of Paris, KY and Barbara Hough (Dave) of Yardley, PA; and fourteen grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Dexter Townley; two sisters, Trovia Townley and Rachel Butts; and one grandchild, Louis Ramos.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at North Middletown Cemetery with Rev. Bill Kilgore officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held 1 PM, Friday, January 20, 2023 at Gateway Christian Church. Pallbearers will be Earl Wilson, Kevin Cooke, Robert Cooke, Ben Cooke, Keith Wilson and Steve Wilson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gateway Christian Church Building Fund, PO Box 1069, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
